I know I’ve lived a sinful life, but now I try to avoid criticizing the clergy. They get demonized day in and day out; they don’t need me to join the pile. Cardinal Ouellet says that the Catholic priesthood suffers from a culture of extreme machismo. All I will say is that I do not agree that today’s priests suffer from an excess of this sort. May God remember at the Day of Judgment that that’s all I said.

Don’t worry too much brother. Our time is a testament to God’s sense of humor, and I suspect no one will leave purgatory before they’ve gained a feel for it. Reactionaries are ahead of the curve in this regard at least.
Let’s all thank God that Cardinal Quellet suffers so little from machismo.
