The precious blood

I’m against the giving out of wine at communion; I always skip it myself.  By the doctrine of concommitance, when I took the body under form of bread, I got the whole Christ, and giving out both obscures that.  Besides, if we Catholics are just going to be freely giving out consecrated wine at Mass, what did we bother to kill all those Hussites for?

    Why take chances, no?

  2. In the Eastern Churches you receive both.

  3. Be partake of both because of its symbolism as well as its substance. We may get the substance in the Body alone, but we don’t get the full symbolism.

  4. Hi Paige,

Thanks. That’s the best argument for it I’ve heard.
