Pope reiterates Catholic submission to Jews

Not in so many words, of course, but what other message can we take away when His Holiness praises the ADL, the most powerful and vicious anti-Christian slander operation on the planet?  Let us be frank:  condemnations of “anti-semitism” by church leaders in the world today are gestures of submission.  The Jews know that an enemy is not truly broken until he is forced to not only surrender, but to affirm the victor’s moral superiority.  What the Pope is really saying is “I am terrified by your control of the media.  Please, please, don’t attack us!  I surrender to your superior force.”

I think it might do far more for interfaith respect if the Pope would just tell the ADL and the rest of the Jewish-agitation complex to go to hell.

  1. Thank you for daring to write these truths.

  2. Thank you for the encouragement, Western Confucian. I’m a big fan of your blog.

  3. This is a very optimistic post, and I hope you are right. For, suppose it is true that the many strange things the churchmen say, they say because the culture makes them. Presumably, then, they are waiting for the culture to fall apart, turn on itself, or begin to lose ground to its critics on the right. Then they will return to saying non-strange things.

Any time I think about the churchmen, I wonder the same things. Do they really mean what they seem to be saying? If so, how did they come to believe such things? If not, what do they really believe and why do they say the things they do? Or are there factions, some of which believe and some of which don’t? Of course, you can find traditionalists making each of these claims, but who is right?

  4. That is the question. I suspect our plelates don’t have your mental clarity. Many don’t believe what they’re saying, but they don’t acknowledge to themselves that they don’t believe it either. I’m guessing that’s the case with B XVI. Then there are the Zionist Catholics in America who really do believe it. Over at First Things, they’re crowing over the Pope’s statement.

  5. I just saw this letter from the Bishop of Madison. I found the link at Fr Z’s blog. It is amazingly Catholic.
